Regenerative medicine

Regenerative medicine is an interdisciplinary field that applies engineering and life science principles to promote regeneration and can potentially restore diseased and injured tissues and whole organs. It concerns the development of tools for the repair or regeneration of damaged tissues

Development of hydrogels for the delivery of paracrine factors to the injured myocardial tissue and in cartilage and bone disease

Scientists: Bollini S., Gentili C.

Keywords: hydrogel, heart, connective tissues, regenerative medicine

Regeneration of connective tissues, development of tridimensional systems and 3D printing

Scientists: Gentili C., Giannoni P., Quarto R., Tasso R.

Keywords: 3D models, connective tissues, bioprinting, regenerative medicine

Study of the effects of microgravity on the organism and similarities with aging. This project involves the use of in vitro and in vivo models, both mouse models and 3D cell cultures. The latter are used in static and dynamic conditions thanks to the use of bioreactors

Scientists: Tavella S.

Keywords: microgravity, skeletal tissue, regenerative medicine

In vitro differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells towards retinal organoids

Scientists: Bassi A.M., Penco S., Vernazza S.

Keywords: stem cells, 3D models, disease models, regenerative medicine
