Motor and Sports Activities in Primary School

Thanks to a Framework Agreement with the Municipality of Genova and other Institutions, lecturers from the Degree Programmes in Sport and Exercise Sciences promote motor education programmes for primary school students, with the aim of fostering healthy and active development. 

⁠Experential Laboratories in Life Sciences

Hands-on activities carried out in the BioTec Hub Laboratories of DIMES, allowing students to practically apply the scientific method through guided experimental experiences.

Neuroscience Olympiad

Regional round: a competition promoted by the Italian Society for Neuroscience (SINS), aimed at stimulating interest in the study of the brain.

UniStem Day

International event dedicated to scientific outreach focused on stem cells and biomedical research, mainly aimed at high school students and held simultaneously at many universities in Italy and around the world. In Genoa, it is organized by professors from the Biology Section of DIMES, who engage students through lectures, seminars, and interactive activities.
The event aims to bring young people closer to the world of science by clearly and accurately explaining what stem cells are and how they are studied, while also promoting critical thinking, research ethics, and the importance of scientific knowledge in society.

UniVax Day

Promoted by the Italian Society of Immunology, Clinical Immunology and Allergology (SIICA), with the patronage of the University of Genoa, UniVax Day aims to inform and raise awareness among upper secondary school students on the topic of vaccines, using scientifically rigorous yet accessible language. The event, involving several lecturers from the Histology section of DIMES, is structured in two parts: an introductory session explaining the role of the immune system and the mechanisms underlying vaccine protection, followed by an interactive session in which students actively participate, also through the use of digital platforms such as Mentimeter.
